FAQ
How do I add activities to my schedule?
Go to Library and tap an activity tile. It adds to the currently selected time slot (Morning/Afternoon/Evening) and uses the first empty spot. Use the little time-slot pills to choose where it goes.
How do I reorder activities?
In Schedule, press and drag an activity within the same time slot to move it. If you drop onto an empty spot it moves; if you drop onto another activity they swap.
How do I remove an activity?
In Schedule, tap the ✕ on an activity to clear that spot. (You can also use Reset to clear the whole schedule.)
How do I print?
Use More → Share & Save → Print or save as PDF → Print (or the Print button if you see it). Your browser’s print dialog will open so you can choose paper size, orientation and a printer.
How do I download a PDF?
Choose More → Share & Save → Print or save as PDF → Download PDF. In the print dialog, pick Save as PDF (wording varies by device) and save.
How do I download a PNG?
Tap Download PNG on the Schedule screen. It saves an image file named visual-schedule.png that you can upload, print, or share.
How do I use “Share or save as image”?
If you have a Share & Save option under More, choose Share or save as image and follow the on‑screen steps. If your build doesn’t show Share & Save yet, use Download PNG on the Schedule screen and then share or save that file from your Photos/Files app.
How do templates work (save/apply)?
Templates are snapshots of your schedule. Use More → Templates → Save today to save, then later use Apply to load a template back into your schedule.
Does this sync across devices / require login?
Not yet. Right now it’s local-only and does not require login. Templates, favorites, recents, and your schedule stay on this device/browser.
Privacy: where is my data stored?
Your schedule data is saved in your browser’s local storage on this device. Nothing is uploaded from the app in this version.
How do I create/edit “My Tiles” (custom activities)?
Go to Library and use the Build your own activity form. Custom tiles are saved under My Tiles. Editing isn’t separate yet—delete the old tile and add the updated one.
How do filters work in the Library?
Use the search box to match words in titles, and use the filter dropdowns (like Category, Place, Transition, Common for) to narrow the grid. Clear filters to see everything again.
What are Favorites and Recents?
Favorites are activities you star so they’re easy to find. Recents are the last activities you used. Both are saved on this device to help you build faster.
Can I use this offline?
Usually, yes—once you’ve loaded the app at least once while online (and especially if you install it). Your saved schedule and templates remain available offline.
How do I reset everything?
Use Reset to clear your current schedule. To wipe everything (templates, favorites, recents, My Tiles), clear this site’s data in your browser settings (Safari/Chrome) for the ViziCues app.
Backup & Restore
What happens if I switch phones?
This app stores all your schedules and templates locally on your device. When you move to a new phone or reinstall the app, your data will not follow automatically. Before switching devices, export a backup from the Backup & Restore menu. Save the file somewhere you control (like iCloud Drive or Google Drive) and then import it on your new device. Without a backup, there is no way to retrieve your schedules because PWAs keep data only on the device.
How do I restore a backup?
Go to More → Backup & Restore → Restore from backup and select the backup file you previously exported. The restore process replaces your current schedules, templates and settings with the content of the file. Restoring only works with backups created by this app and requires the correct encryption passphrase if you protected your backups. Without the passphrase, encrypted backups cannot be recovered.
Premium
What does Pro include?
The Pro version unlocks unlimited templates, unlimited profiles, unlimited custom activity creation and encrypted backups. You also get priority support and premium icon themes. Free users can still enjoy the app’s full functionality but are limited to 1 profile, 3 templates, and 3 custom activities. Open More → ViziCues Pro to upgrade or restore a previous purchase.
How do I cancel?
Because ViziCues is a PWA right now, subscriptions are managed through Stripe. To cancel, open More → ViziCues Pro, then choose Manage subscription. This opens the secure Stripe customer portal where you can cancel, update your payment method, and view invoices. You can also use the “Manage subscription” link in your Stripe email receipt. If you purchased Lifetime, there’s nothing to cancel.
Profiles
What are Profiles and how do I use them?
Profiles let you create separate visual schedules for different people (for example, siblings or students) without mixing their activities. Use More → Profiles to add a new profile and give it a name. Switch between profiles from the profile selector in the top bar; each profile has its own schedules, templates and favorites.
Calendar & Reminders
How do I set reminder notifications or export to a calendar?
On the Schedule screen, tap the … menu and choose Export calendar (.ics). Open the downloaded .ics file to add it to your device calendar (Apple Calendar / Google Calendar). Then set alerts/reminders inside your calendar app (for example, “5 minutes before”). ViziCues doesn’t send push notifications yet—the reminders come from your calendar app.
Privacy
Where is my data stored?
Your schedules, templates and profile data live entirely in your browser’s local storage on the device you are using. Nothing is ever sent to our servers – it stays on your device. This privacy‑first approach is a benefit because it means your information remains secure and under your control.
However, because everything is local, clearing your browser data or uninstalling the app will remove your content. To move your schedules to a new device or to the installed app, create a backup first and then import it on the new device.
What if I forget my encryption passphrase?
If you enabled encryption when exporting a backup, the passphrase is required to restore it. There is no back‑door: without your passphrase, encrypted backups cannot be recovered. Keep it somewhere safe or use a password manager.
Troubleshooting
Why aren’t my changes syncing across devices?
Currently, ViziCues does not sync automatically. All data is stored locally in your browser, so changes remain on one device. Use backups to move your schedules between devices and remember to import the backup on each device you want to keep in sync.
Why is my Pro not working?
If you've upgraded to Pro but features are locked, double‑check that you're using the same device and browser you used to upgrade. Pro is linked to your device and does not sync across browsers or devices due to our privacy‑first design. On a new device or in the installed app, open More → ViziCues Pro, then choose Restore purchase or Recheck Pro to refresh your license. You can also choose Manage subscription there to confirm your plan. If you still can't access Pro, please contact support with your purchase receipt.
Why did my schedules disappear after I downloaded the app?
When you install ViziCues as an app (a PWA), it uses its own secure storage sandbox. For privacy reasons the installed app cannot see the schedules you created in Safari or Chrome. To keep your schedules, export a backup from the web version before installing (More → Backup & Restore → Create backup). After installation, import the backup into the app (More → Backup & Restore → Restore from backup). Without a backup, the installed app cannot access your browser's data.
Focus view & timer
What is Focus view?
Focus view is an “execution mode” that shows your schedule as one clear step at a time. It’s designed to reduce overwhelm and make it easy to stay on the current activity. You can mark an item done to move forward, and you can optionally enter an immersive focus mode for fewer distractions.
How do I use the focus timer?
In Focus, open Focus options (or the … menu in immersive mode) and choose Timer or Timer settings. Pick a duration and start the timer for the current activity. You can pause, resume, or stop anytime. If you don’t see timer controls, enable them in Timer settings.
What is Focus Lock?
Focus Lock (in Focus options) helps prevent accidental exits from immersive focus mode. When enabled, exiting focus asks for confirmation so a stray tap doesn’t kick you out mid‑routine.
List view
What is List view?
List view shows only the activities you’ve added to the day, in a clean checklist-style list. It’s great for “do the plan” mode—less layout, more action. You can mark items done, hide completed, and jump back to Build anytime.
How do I hide completed items?
In List, use the Hide completed toggle. Turn it off to show everything again. (Tip: if you want to review what was done today, show completed.)
